Final Project: Interpretation & Representation

The aim of Project 3: Interpretation and Representation was to develop the Project 2 Tectonic Structure into a Sensory Space with a design journey with spaces that expresses the user's different needs and emotions. Project 3 focused the use of sensory to capture different emotions and story telling.

My Design Narrative was to create a structure that holds the journey of the feeling of 'Depression & Alone' to 'Freedom & Relaxation' to 'Conquering'. To express these emotions, I played with the materials, light intensity, shadow and texture, and the volume of space. I was inspired by some of Peter Eisenman designs where he forces the users to live the way that he wants and included that in parts of my design. A clear hierarchy of the transfer of spaces can also be seen from my structure.

Final Project Reflection

In my Final Project of Architectural Design I, I learnt how complex spaces are and how spaces can be specifically designed to tell a story or scenario. I also learn what sensory is and how it can be applied to spaces as well as new joints and joineries that connects different construction materials together.
