Architecture & Environment

Architecture & Environment introduced us to the different items regarding the surrounding environment and conditions that we should consider into our projects when designing. We were taught how to design in relation to these environmental conditions for the most efficient design with the primary goal of energy efficient projects.

Project I

Through Project 1, we were introduced and tasked to research on sustainability and how it can be further improved in the future based on the current methods for sustainable architecture.

Project II

Through Project 2, we were introduced to daylighting and how it can be implemented into the design of a building for natural lighting techniques as well as to create unique spatial experiences and for specific purposes. We had to do a case study on a chosen building and its natural lighting.

Reflection

In Architecture & Environment, I learned about passive design strategies and sustainable architecture designs. This module has taught me how to design in relation the the surrounding environment to enhance my projects as well as to design to benefit the future environment.
